Dietary Aide
Position Overview
The Dietary Aide assists in trayline, dishwashing, storing, preparation, and service of meals as directed by the Dietary Director/Manager and Lead Cook. The Dietary Aide must be detail-oriented, well-groomed, act professionally, and must be a team player who works well with others. Must prepare, deliver, handle, and clean food in accordance with our policies and procedures, and, as may be directed by the Food Services Director/Manager or Cook. The Dietary Aide keeps record, cleans, and sanitizes kitchen according to health and safety standards. Must be able to assist and take orders from the Dietary Director/Manager and Lead Cook in preparation, delivery, storing, and cleaning process of the kitchen.
Schedule
Weekends are required. Shift: 8am to 5pm, 1-2 days a week (days vary depending on facility need). Per Diem / On-Call position with flexible schedules.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Specialized training in foodservice is desirable
- Ability to read, understand English, follow directions, and complete tasks
- Maintains a neat, clean, well-groomed appearance
- Dependable, with experience working in facilities of mass and quality food production methods
- General knowledge and understanding of nutrition
- Ability to read and accurately apply requirements of food onto food trays
- Knowledge of quantity food production and serving techniques, food safety/sanitation requirements and procedures
- Ability to interact positively with residents, client, staff, and other personnel and the public
- Must embody great customer service, cleanliness, professionalism, and eagerness to learn and assist
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 40 pounds
- Push/pull a maximum of 60 pounds
- Stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods of time
- Must be able to work around food and cleaning products
