Dietary Aide

Golden Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking Part-Time Dietary Aides for all shifts, including Days and Evenings. We treat our residents, their family, friends, and staff with dignity, kindness, benevolence, and respect.

About the role

The Dietary Aide performs work in the preparation and service of food at Golden Hill. Responsibilities include maintaining proper food handling practices in preparation, holding, service, and storage of food, as well as proper use, cleaning, sanitation, and maintenance of equipment and work areas.

The Dietary Aide assists residents in fulfilling specific dietary requirements to promote their health and wellbeing. They support the Dietary Manager in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Dietary Services Department in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food dishes, deliver food to patients, and assist kitchen staff in maintaining a clean, sanitary workplace
• Review department policies, procedures, manuals, and position descriptions at least annually and participate in recommended updates
• Interpret policies and procedures to personnel, patients/residents, visitors, and family members as needed
• Prepare meals, snacks, and beverages following specific procedures
• Serve meals, ensuring food safety and hygiene procedures are followed at all times
• Take inventory of kitchen supplies and food items
• Set up and take down dining areas and assist with kitchen maintenance and general cleaning
• Assist with educational programs on nutrition

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (minimum requirement)
• Previous experience as a Dietary Aide is preferred
• Bonus experience includes training in cost control, food management, or diet therapy
• Any combination of experience and training that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities for the role
• Reliable transportation
