Job Summary

The Dietary Aide will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks in the preparation, service, and clean‑up for meals served to residents in the nursing center. Maintains an attractive and sanitary dining room, meal service and delivery.

Principal Responsibilities

• Assist with food ordering, storage and preparation as designated by the supervisor.
• Assist cooks as directed by the supervisor.
• Prepare and label nourishments according to center procedures.
• Prepare and portion desserts, salads and other non‑entre foods into dishes; pour beverages.
• Follow production sheets and pre‑preparation sheets or guidelines when appropriate.
• Complete pre‑preparation as needed or assigned, including washing, peeling and cutting vegetables and fruits; slice meat and measure or weigh for menu compliance and nutrition accuracy.
• Follow the cleaning schedule; clean equipment and work area after each use; sweep and mop kitchen floors as assigned; take trash to dumpster as assigned; wash pots and pans as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year’s work experience in a large‑scale cooking operation (preferred).
