About the role
The Dietary Aide is responsible for serving residents’ meals and performing cleaning routines for the dietary department.
Responsibilities
- Serves meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance on a timely basis.
- Serves food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
- Assists in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Sweeps and mops floors as directed.
- Washes and cleans utensils as directed.
- Sets up meal trays, food carts, dining room, etc., as instructed.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Must be able to keep up in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to follow sanitation processes and maintain cleanliness standards.
Qualifications
- Experience operating an industrial dishwasher and the sanitation process of the kitchen preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
- Experience in industrial food production preferred.
- Prior experience working in a long-term care facility a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling.
- Ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, with or without the aid of mechanical devices.
