Dietary Aide
Duties and Responsibilities
- Serves food in accordance with established portion control procedures
- Affords assistance in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Cleans tables, meat blocks, refrigerators/freezers, etc.
- Sweeps and mops floors as directed
- Carries soiled utensils, etc., to wash area
- Returns clean utensils to proper storage areas
- Cleans utensils as directed
- Keeps work areas clean, dry and free of hazardous equipment, supplies, etc.
- Sets up meal trays, food carts, dining room, etc., as instructed
- Affords assistance in preparing meals and obtaining food supplies for the following meal
- All other duties as assigned
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Must be able to read/understand resident tray card
- Must be able to keep up in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to learn to load and operate an industrial diswasher within one week
- Ability to follow sanitation process and maintain cleanliness standards
- Experience operating an industrial dishwasher and the sanitation process of the kitchen, preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required
- Experience in industrial food production preferred
- Prior experience working in a long-term care facility a plus
- Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required
- Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards
- Understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required
