Dietary Aide

Allure of Knox County in Galesburg, Illinois is seeking a reliable and detail‑oriented Dietary Aide to join the evening team. The position involves assisting with meal preparation, serving, and delivering meals to residents while ensuring health, safety, and well‑being. The role offers a full‑time schedule at $15.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation and serving, following food safety and hygiene procedures.
• Inspect special‑diet trays to ensure compliance with dietary restrictions.
• Check accuracy of meal trays against printed tray tickets.
• Resolve problems with resident trays and offer appropriate alternate food and beverage choices.
• Monitor residents' eating habits and report issues such as swallowing difficulties, chewing problems, or loss of appetite.
• Assist the Cook with determining kitchen supplies, checking stock levels, and maintaining inventory.
• Perform cleaning duties in the kitchen and dining areas, maintaining clean and sanitized environments, equipment, and surfaces.
• Wash dishes and utensils in accordance with acceptable practice standards.
• Resolve resident requests or complaints, or forward them to appropriate staff.
• Assist with room‑service delivery, including assembling resident trays, loading carts, and delivering meals.
• Comply with sanitation regulations and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Eligibility for the IDPH Health Care Worker Registry.
• Ability to safely perform job‑related functions, with or without reasonable accommodation as required by law.
• CPR certification as required.
• Food Handler Certification as required by the State of Illinois.

Pay

$15.00 per hour (full‑time).
