Available Shifts: 1st - 6 a.m. to 2p.m., 2nd - 2 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Qualifications
- Must meet eligibility requirements for IDPH Health Care Worker Registry
- Must be able to safely and successfully perform job related functions, with or without reasonable accommodation required by federal, state, or local law
- CPR certification as required
- Food Handler Certification as required by State of Illinois
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Observe and promote Resident Rights. Report to Nurse, Director of Nursing, or Administrator when these rights are not uniformly and consistently applied within the facility
- Care for multiple residents in facility
- Aid with meal preparation and serving ensuring food safety and hygiene procedures are followed at all times
- Inspect special diet trays before passing to ensure they comply with the dietary restrictions
- Check the accuracy of meal tray against printed tray ticket menu
- Resolve problems with resident trays. Offers residents appropriate alternate food and beverage choices
- Monitor residents' eating habits and report problems with swallowing, chewing, or loss of appetite
- Aid the Cook with determining kitchen supplies and stock for the day, as well as checking and maintaining stock levels
- Assist with cleaning duties in the kitchen and dining areas
- Maintain clean and sanitized kitchen, storeroom, and dining room areas, equipment, and surfaces
- Wash dishes and/or utensils in a way that is in line with acceptable practice standards
- Resolve resident requests/complaints or report to appropriate staff
- Assists with room service delivery as needed, including assembling resident trays, loading carts, and delivering meals to residents
- Comply with sanitation regulations
- Use proper PPE as required
- Complete required documentation of meal service
- Complete required training, online training, and attend department and all staff meetings
- Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality
- Mandatory reporting of suspected abuse/neglect/misappropriation/exploitation to administrator, director or nursing, or charge nurse if administrator and/or DNS are not in building
