Responsibilities

  • Reports at assigned time, in uniform, ready for duty;
  • Handles food and equipment according to sanitation policies and procedures;
  • Is aware of safety regulations and responsibilities in operating all equipment;
  • Delivers food carts, trays, etc. to designated areas, including resident rooms and dining room, as instructed by supervisor;
  • Serve – in dining rooms;
  • Prepare and deliver snacks as directed;
  • Affords daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures;
  • Reports any discrepancies in his/her area to department supervisor;
  • Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights;
  • Performs related work as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and understand directions in English language.
  • Previous Food Service Aide experience is helpful.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of the methods and techniques of handling and serving food.
  • Working knowledge of sanitation practices relating to food handling.
  • Possess the ability to positively interact with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and follow written and oral directions in the English language.
  • Provides annual verification of a negative TB skin test.

Skills
