Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team in providing exceptional food service in a nursing home or assisted living environment. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that residents receive nutritious meals that meet their dietary needs while maintaining high standards of food safety and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist in meal preparation and serving of food to residents, ensuring that dietary restrictions and preferences are adhered to.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas, following all food safety guidelines.
• Support the dietary team in planning menus that meet nutritional standards and resident needs.
• Provide excellent customer service by interacting positively with residents during meal times.
• Help with inventory management, including receiving and storing food supplies appropriately.
• Participate in training sessions related to dietetics, food safety, and kitchen operations as required.
• Report any concerns regarding resident dietary needs or kitchen operations to the supervisor promptly.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Dietary Aide or in a similar role within a nursing home, assisted living facility, or hospital is preferred.
• Knowledge of basic nutrition principles and dietary restrictions is an asset.
• Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices for meal preparation.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor towards residents and staff alike.
• Able to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated when needed.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; additional training in dietetics or culinary arts is a plus.
