DIET CLERK
Location: Milwaukee, WI (Froedtert Hospital) – on-site role.
About the Role
Provides direct one-on-one customer service for meal fulfillment from patients, nurses, and other disciplines (providers, speech therapy, dietitians). Has an in-depth understanding of diet and nutrient restrictions to ensure accurate and compliant meals maintain integrity of diet orders. Facilitates direct communication between healthcare disciplines for diet order verification and implements problem-solving skills to resolve issues while maintaining integrity of diet orders in computer applications (Epic and Cbord). Responsible for data analytics to ensure patient safety processes are met. Ensures meal order accuracy and fulfillment across all five hospital entities without error.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct customer service for meal fulfillment to patients, nurses, and other healthcare disciplines.
- Ensure compliance with diet and nutrient restrictions for accurate meal preparation.
- Communicate with healthcare teams to verify and maintain diet order integrity.
- Utilize problem-solving skills to resolve issues related to meal orders.
- Use computer applications (Epic and Cbord) to manage and track diet orders.
- Perform data analytics to support patient safety processes.
- Ensure error-free meal order accuracy and fulfillment across multiple hospital entities.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in healthcare food service or customer service, including work with computer applications in customer service, food service, or a call center.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
- Post-high school education (preferred).
- Knowledge of nutrition through coursework or experience (preferred).
Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, visitors, and staff in a courteous manner.
Schedule
- Shift: Shift 2 (start time as early as 10:30 AM, end time as late as 8:00 PM).
- Weekends: Minimally required to work every other weekend, or every Saturday, or every Sunday.
- Holidays: Rotating.
