We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Truck Mechanic to join our dedicated maintenance team at the railyard. In this essential role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining the mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, and electrical systems on a fleet of semi-trucks, trailers, and hostler vehicles. You will ensure all equipment is kept in top working condition by performing regular maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and ensuring safety standards are met at all times. Status: Full-Time | Immediate Hire.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines (Caterpillar, Cummins, Detroit) to maintain optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems using schematics, ensuring all wiring and components are functioning correctly.
- Perform preventive maintenance on tractors, trailers, and hostler trucks to minimize downtime.
- Conduct full vehicle assessments and execute timely repairs on both scheduled and unscheduled service calls.
- Maintain detailed service records of work completed, parts replaced, and maintenance schedules, ensuring compliance with safety and company standards.
- Monitor and adhere to routine maintenance schedules, making sure all equipment receives necessary attention on time.
- Communicate findings and repair needs effectively with the maintenance supervisor and team to prioritize and allocate resources appropriately.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience working as a diesel mechanic, with experience on semi-trucks, trailers, or hostler vehicles.
