About the role
This role involves maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing diesel-powered landscape equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel-powered landscaping equipment and vehicles
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and longevity
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues effectively and efficiently
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs and maintenance activities using fleet management software
- Collaborate with shop management and field staff to prioritize and manage workload
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
- Possess strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and landscape equipment operation
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and proper parts inventory
- Communicate effectively with team members and vendors
- Able to lift and handle heavy equipment and parts safely
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and ability to maintain a clean driving record
- MUST be authorized to work in the United States
- Previous experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably in landscaping or heavy equipment, is required
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to work extended hours during peak seasons or snow events as needed
