Diesel Tractor Technician / Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance services within acceptable standards for Dayton Freight Lines.
• Diagnose, repair, and replace external engine components.
• Test and repair entire truck chassis electrical systems.
• Develop skills to repair all major power and drive train components.
• Perform PM inspections and services according to DFL policy and time standards.
• Maintain suspension and brake systems.
• Perform tire maintenance according to DFL policy.
• Conduct vehicle road tests to ensure quality repairs.
• Perform other maintenance duties as assigned.
• Interact positively and professionally with fellow employees.
• Improve shop, grounds, and equipment maintenance processes.
• Record all work and labor in the EMS system.
• Work with the Parts Department to maintain stock levels.
• Comply with Parts Department procedures and rules.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid Driver's License.
• Basic math skills.
• Fluent in English.
• Able to pass a drug screen.
• At least 18 years old.
