Part-Time Faculty position located at the Arnold/Main Campus.
About the Role
Part-time evening instructor position responsible for classroom and lab instruction in Diesel Technology. Instructors must follow the provided curriculum outline and learning expectations, with content housed in Canvas (online learning platform). A desire to share industry knowledge with future skilled trades workers is essential.
Responsibilities
- Prepare materials needed for instruction, labs, testing, and supplies.
- Relate instruction and material to course objectives.
- Discuss and demonstrate workplace safety, personal safety, and power/hand tool safety.
- Communicate effectively and efficiently with students, other faculty, and staff.
- Submit grades, attendance, reports, and records in a timely manner.
- Utilize Canvas (online learning platform) to facilitate the course.
- Provide basic lab maintenance and track inventory of equipment and tools.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Diesel Technology or Heavy Duty Truck experience or ASE Diesel certified with 2 years of experience.
- Expertise in the trade and the ability to effectively manage a classroom.
- Some computer experience (Canvas or similar online learning platforms).
- Prior teaching experience is not required.
Pay
$50 per hour.
Schedule
Weekday evenings. This position requires regular in-person presence on campus and at alternative locations, depending on class schedule and other assigned duties.
