Ryder is hiring a Mobile Maintenance Diesel Technician in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. This position offers a stable career with weekly pay and excellent benefits.
Responsibilities
- Interact with customers, manage accounts, resolve repair issues, and discuss new repair estimates.
- Cookout vehicles to identify repair needs, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and vehicle repairs, including:
- A/C & Heater: System checks, power to compressor, visual inspection of condenser, belt tension.
- Brakes-Air: Air system tests, lining thickness measurement, brake adjustment.
- Brakes-Hydraulic: Visual inspections, fluid level check, lining thickness measurement, brake repair.
- Cargo Handling/Transfer, Liftgates: Fluid level check, minor adjustments, leak identification.
- Charging Systems (electrical): Battery inspection, cleaning, testing, belt replacement.
- Cooling Systems: Coolant level check, system leaks, minor repairs.
- Cranking System (electrical): Battery inspection, cable cleaning, replacement, and testing.
- Lighting System and Electrical Accessories: Minor wiring problems, bulb and lens replacement.
- Drive Axles: Housing leaks, oil change, filter replacement, and cleaning.
- Steering and Non-driven Axles and Alignment: Grease fittings, fluid levels, toe check, and wheel bearing replacement.
- Tire and Wheel Maintenance: Pressure checks, tread depth check, tire replacement, and repairs.
- Vehicle Coupling System (PM): Slider mechanism lubrication, operation, and fifth wheel plate lubrication.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Vocational or technical certification in vehicle maintenance and repair services preferred.
- One (1) year or more mechanical experience working offsite at customer locations.
- Minimum tools required to perform job duties as outlined in Ryder's Maintenance policy 2.02.
- Pass a Ryder drug test and previous employer's for the past 3 years, DOT physical, Ryder road test, pass a Ryder Background check and Motor vehicle check including Drug and Alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
- Able to take home assigned mobile service truck as applicable and secure vehicle and contents.
- Valid NonCommercial Driver License CLASS E, Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A and/or State driver's license as required.
- Preventive Maintenance (PM230&PM298) within 90 Days.
- Other Brakes-Air (BA220&BA298) within 90 Days.
- Other Brake mechanics/inspectors FMCS 396.25.
- Other Hydraulic Brake (BH220&BH298) where appropriate within 90 Days.
- Other Tire & Wheel TW220 within 90 Days.
- Other CF609 & A/C trained and qualified (AC220&AC298) within 180 Days.
- Other Battery Charge and Check, Warranty.
- Other HD electrical - DR208 within 90 Days.
- Other Svc Island Support SBTIII trained (SBT220) and SBT Phase 2 within 180 Days.
- Other OEM on-line engine courses (minimum 2) within 180 Days.
- Pass a Ryder Drug Test.
- Pass a DOT physical.
- Pass a Ryder road test.
- Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
Qualifications

Hourly Pay: $30.00 per hour.
