Diesel Technician/ Mechanic - LEVEL B

About the role

Waste Pro is hiring dynamic Class B Technicians to join a team serving thousands of customers daily with professional, experienced, hardworking, and dedicated individuals. You will work on some of the finest trucks built, including Mack, Freightliner, Peterbilt, McNeilus, and Heil, as well as alternative fuel source fleets like CNG, LPG, and Hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs and maintenance on all equipment to maximize safe and productive operations.
• Review and complete repairs identified on DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report) and/or repair orders.
• Communicate with managers and drivers about issues with vehicles and discuss preventive techniques to minimize future repairs.
• Complete all required paperwork in a timely and concise manner.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
• Utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
• Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
• Conduct repairs utilizing Factory Service Manuals.
• Maintain high standards of ethics and dependability.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Suspension Inspections, Diagnosis, and Repair.
• Knowledge of Brake System Inspections, Diagnosis, and Repair.
• Knowledge of Electrical System Inspections, Diagnosis, and Repair.
• Knowledge of Hydraulic System Inspections, Diagnosis, and Repair.
• Proficient in the use of Diagnostic tools with the ability to interpret and make repairs from Service Manuals.
• Knowledge to provide assistance and guidance to Assistant Technicians and Shop Helpers.
• CDL Class B (preferred within 12 months).
