About the role

Gordon Truck Centers, Inc. (GTC) is now hiring Diesel Technicians at their Coburg, OR location. Established in 1986, GTC operates 19 dealerships under various brands including Freightliner Northwest, Western Star Northwest, TrailerCraft, Western Mountain Bus, and Freightliner of Hawaii. They provide comprehensive services including sales, financing, insurance, and truck servicing for medium and heavy-duty vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Run diagnostic tests and analyze results.
  • Repair or replace vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions, and braking systems.
  • Work knowledge of engines, transmissions, differential, A/C and suspensions.
  • Determine unit condition by conducting inspections & diagnostic tests, identifying deficiencies.
  • Able to read schematics for electrical and air systems.
  • Develop technical skills through training opportunities.
  • Test equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications; make necessary adjustments if required.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the shop.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of engines, transmissions, differential, A/C and suspensions.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics for electrical and air systems.
  • Full complement of tools for mechanics.

Qualifications

  • Frequent lifting up to 75 pounds.
  • Full complement of tools for mechanics.

Skills

  • Diagnostic testing and analysis.

  • Electrical and air system troubleshooting.
  • Reading and interpreting schematics.
