About the Role
Ryder is hiring a Senior Level Diesel Technician in Suncook, New Hampshire. This role offers a stable career with weekly pay, excellent benefits, and state-of-the-art diagnostics and tools for working on heavy-duty vehicles.
Pay
- Hourly pay: $38.60 per hour
- Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification obtained, up to $700
- Quarterly Bonus: Up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)
- Sign-On Bonus: $3,500
Schedule
- Sunday–Wednesday, 4–10-hour days
- Second Shift: 2:00 pm – 1:00 am

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Vocational or technical certification (preferred)
- Post-secondary degree or technical certifications (preferred)
- Basic tools (required)
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including:
- Routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
- Basic diagnostics and repairs (AC and electrical systems)
- Three (3) years or more relevant work experience (preferred)
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A (preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy-duty and medium-duty equipment
- Knowledge of computer skills (PC, Windows, mouse, etc.)
- Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
- Must pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and background/motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
Responsibilities
- Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including:
- Standard vehicle maintenance
- Preventive maintenance
- Diagnoses complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers
- Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
- Replaces defective components as instructed
- Works unsupervised on most tasks
- Performs facility maintenance duties
- Interacts with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints
- Utilizes Shop Management System and electronic documentation
- Works in accordance with federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (e.g., safety, DOT, MOT)
- Acts as a mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
- Demonstrates ability to access and use internal and external maintenance documents
- Other support duties as required, including:
- Service Island support
- SBTIII training within 180 days (SBT220)
- Complete 2 OEM online diagnostic scan tool software courses (predominant OEM of fleet mix within 365 days)
