Diesel Technician / Fleet Mechanic

About the role

Wind River Environmental is seeking experienced Diesel Technicians to support our fleet of essential environmental services vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, air brake systems, hydraulics, electrical systems, and emissions equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on medium and heavy-duty trucks and specialty equipment
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues, prioritizing repairs to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently
• Respond to road calls and breakdowns, coordinating with vendors as necessary
• Document repairs and maintenance using Fleetio fleet management software
• Support fleet reliability and safety initiatives
• Maintain compliance with DOT, OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in diesel, fleet, or heavy equipment maintenance
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Experience working on medium/heavy-duty trucks and hydraulic systems
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record (CDL preferred)
• Experience with fleet maintenance software preferred
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
