KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards
- Diagnose vehicle problems based on customer complaints and inspections, and determine whether additional safety or service work is required or recommended
- Diagnose and repair suspension, driveline, steering components, brake systems (air and hydraulic), engines, and electrical systems
- Install injectors, pistons, liners, camshafts, cylinder heads, rod and main bearings, oil pans, clutches, fan hubs, differentials, fifth wheels, brakes, batteries, transmissions, and other related components
- Document all work performed and recommended repair orders
- Conduct road tests as needed to verify vehicle performance and repair quality
- Organize work effectively and plan for the highest efficiency and productivity across assigned repairs
- Follow all company and industry safety standards
- Participate in continual training and development in support of individual career growth and company goals
MUST HAVES
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
- 5+ years of experience working with diesel engines and heavy-duty trucks
- Training and hands-on experience diagnosing and troubleshooting major components, including engines, transmissions, and differentials
- ASE certification, OEM training, and 608/609 certifications
- Own toolset to perform assigned responsibilities
- Ability to obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
- You will work independently on major and minor repairs, diagnose commercial trucks and buses across makes, and help uphold strong service standards in the shop
- This role may also serve as a mentor resource for developing diesel technicians
TRAINING
- Ongoing OEM training and continuous development are part of the role, with a focus on helping technicians stay current with changing truck technology and keep building their skills over time
WORK MODEL
- Full-time, first-shift schedule, typically 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday
- No weekends or nights
