Job Summary

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and related vehicle systems.
  • Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on diesel-powered equipment and vehicles.
  • Utilize specialized tools and diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical issues.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
  • Work in various settings including repair shops, transportation companies, or industrial facilities.

Essential Functions

  • Advanced knowledge to diagnose and repair diesel engines and related equipment including air systems, oil analysis, cooling system.
  • Proficient troubleshooting experience.
  • Troubleshooting of fuel system including ability to perform diagnostic tests with manufacturer software.
  • Ability to perform diagnostic tests with manufacturer software.
  • Perform troubleshooting & diagnosing circuit faults.
  • Ability to disassemble & assemble pumps & lines for the fuel system.
  • Ability to properly troubleshoot Tier 4 Systems.

Education

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Previous experience working on diesel or heavy construction equipment is required.
  • Additional vocational/trade school training in a mechanical field.
  • Experience working on diesel or heavy construction equipment is preferred.
  • Related equipment knowledge on engines, hydraulics, electronics, Tier 4 Systems and fuel systems.
  • General understanding of basic electrical, powertrain and hydraulic knowledge, moderate usage of CAT SIS and Vulcan EMS processes.
  • Previous experience with CAT SIS/ET of my Komatsu programs required.
  • Knowledge of general principles and practices of servicing heavy construction equipment.
  • Experience with aggregate equipment a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Knowledge of general principles and practices of servicing heavy construction equipment is preferred.
  • Mechanical Skills.

Other Requirements

  • Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands.
  • Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
  • Perform physical activities that require moving your whole body and considerable use of your arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
  • Must have knowledge of industrial tools, their uses and maintenance.
  • Travel will be required overnight as business demands.
  • Take an active role in prioritizing safety for yourself and others throughout the operation at all times.
  • Must have and maintain valid driver's license.
