About the role
Ryder is hiring a Senior Level Diesel Technician in Sacramento, California. This position offers a stable career with weekly pay and excellent benefits.
Responsibilities
- Performs standard vehicle maintenance
- Performs preventive maintenance
- Diagnoses complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers when applicable
- Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
- Works unsupervised on most tasks
- Performs facility maintenance duties
- Interacts with customers/drivers to properly determine the nature of complaints once assigned a task
- Utilizes key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation
- Works in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (e.g., safety, DOT, MOT)
- Acts as a mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
- Demonstrate the ability to access and use internal and external maintenance documents
- Supports operations with other support duties as required
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or Technical Certification
- Post-secondary degree or Technical Certifications preferred
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including: routine preventative maintenance, oil changes, brake and tire work, basic diagnostics and repairs, AC and electrical systems
- Three (3) years or more relevant work experience, preferred
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred

Pay
Hourly Pay: $40.24 per hour
Schedule
Tuesday- Saturday
Hours: Second Shift 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm
