Diesel Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine services (oil changes, filters, PMs, tires, brakes)
• Assist senior techs with diagnostics and larger repairs
• Learn tanker, pump, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
• Help maintain a clean and safe shop
• Complete basic repair documentation
• Diagnose and repair engines, electrical systems, emissions, and drivetrains
• Perform major repairs (clutches, transmissions, powertrain, pumps, hydraulics)
• Work independently and manage complex repairs with minimal oversight
• Complete DOT inspections and ensure compliance
• Mentor junior techs and help build shop efficiency

Qualifications

• Recent diesel/auto tech school graduation OR hands-on mechanical experience
• Basic understanding of tools and mechanical systems
• Willingness to learn and take direction
• Reliable work ethic and positive attitude
• 3--10+ years diesel mechanic experience (oilfield/heavy-duty preferred)
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
• Experience with tankers, pneumatics, hydraulics, or welding is a plus
• Ability to work independently and manage repair flow
