About the role

Amerit Fleet Solutions, a leader in fleet maintenance across the U.S., is hiring a skilled Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join their team in Syracuse, New York. This role offers potential sign-on bonuses, weekly pay, full benefits, and training opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on Yard Goats, Yard Hustler, Switchers & Trailers
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
• Conduct inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and compliance standards
• Accurately document repairs and complete work orders
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including your tools and equipment
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to support fleet operations

Requirements

• 2+ years’ of hands-on experience performing Yard Goats, Yard Hustler, Switchers & Trailers
• Cummins Insight or JPro Diagnostic Skills
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to own and maintain the personal tools and toolbox required for the role
• Willingness and ability to meet the physical demands of the position

Qualifications

• Must be eligible to pass standard pre-employment screenings, including drug screen and DOT physical (if required)

Pay & Schedule

• Potential Sign On Bonus up to $2500 + SRT Bonus Opportunity; up to $15,000 annually; paid monthly and based on performance
• Pay $30.00 - $34.00/hour (based on experience)
• Pay Frequency Weekly pay - every Friday
• Schedule Tuesday - Saturday 600 am - 230 pm
