About the role

The Technician Apprenticeship program trains an entry-level technician in various aspects of vehicle engineering, including electrical diagnosis, air conditioning and heating component inspection, and hydraulic and brake systems.

Responsibilities

  • Routine and preventive maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks.
  • Electrical diagnosis of starting & charging systems.
  • Air conditioning & heating component identification & inspection.
  • Wheel end assembly component identification & inspection.
  • Air system component identification & inspection.
  • Air brakes component identification & inspection.
  • Hydraulics component identification and inspection.
  • Perform truck preventative maintenance.

Requirements

To thrive as a Technician with Republic Services, the Apprentice must be a logical problem solver with an interest in vehicle engineering and the commitment to ongoing learning. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including some nights/weekends or holidays, and uphold the Company’s values.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include a commitment to completing the two-year program, a logical problem-solving ability, and an interest in engineering and technology. Must be willing to travel to and live in Dallas, TX for 9 weeks of in-person training.

Pay

Pay increases after graduation and with promotion to Tech C. Boots/Uniforms/PPE provided.
