Ryder is hiring a Mobile Maintenance Diesel Technician in Kansas City, KS. This position offers a stable career with weekly pay and excellent benefits.
Responsibilities
- Interact with customers, manage accounts, resolve repair issues, and discuss estimates.
- Coordinate work schedules with customers.
- Perform preventive maintenance and vehicle repairs, including:
- A/C & Heater: System checks, leaks identification, repairs.
- Brakes-Air: Brake operation, leaks, lining thickness, drum measurement.
- Brakes-Hydraulic: Air brake system tests, lining thickness, brake repairs.
- Cargo Handling/Transfer: Leaks, liftgate operation, fluid level checks.
- Charging Systems: Battery inspection, cleaning, testing, replacement.
- Cooling Systems: Fluid levels, leaks, repairs.
- Cranking System: Battery inspection, cables, starter, replacement.
- Lighting System and Electrical Accessories: Wiring problems, bulb replacement.
- Drive Axles: Housing leaks, oil changes, component inspections.
- Steering and Non-driven Axles and Alignment: Grease fittings, fluid levels, wheel bearings.
- Tire and Wheel Maintenance: Pressure checks, tread depth, repairs.
- Vehicle Coupling System: Slider mechanism lubrication, operation.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Vocational or Technical Certification in related field preferred.
- Four (4) years or more experience in advanced mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment.
- Minimum tools required to perform job duties as outlined in Ryder's Maintenance policy 2.02.
- Pass a Ryder drug test and previous employer's for the past 3 years, DOT physical, Ryder road test, pass a Ryder Background check and Motor vehicle check including Drug and Alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
- Able to take home assigned mobile service truck as applicable and secure vehicle and contents.
- Valid NonCommercial Driver License CLASS E, Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A and/or State driver's license as required.
- Must meet federal qualifications of brake mechanic and inspectors (FMCS 396.25).

Skills
- Proficient in operating shop computers and diagnostic test equipment.
- SBTIII trained - SBT220 within 180 Days.
- Complete all OEM on-line diagnostic scan tool software courses as required by location fleet mix.
- Complete Instructor led OEM courses as required to support location fleet mix within 1 Year.
- Tire & Wheel safety trained - TW220 within 90 Days.
- PM qualified - (PM230&PM298) within 90 Days.
- Brake Air qualified - (BA220&BA298) within 90 Days.
- A/C recycling & recovery certified - CF609 within 90 Days.
- A/C qualified - (AC220&AC298) within 180 Days.
- HD electrical trained - DR208 within 90 Days.

Hourly Pay: $44.11 per hour.
