About the role

We are seeking a Diesel Mechanic to work on our fleet of tractors and trailers.

Schedule

Sunday–Thursday, 3:00 pm–11:30 pm

Pay

$33.00–$37.00 per hour, depending upon experience

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, rebuild, and repair fleet equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units, and related parts)
  • Complete thorough documentation for work orders of repairs and preventative maintenance through the online Enterprise Asset Management system
  • Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical problems utilizing diagnostic technology/software when applicable
  • Complete complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
  • Adhere to all company, local, state, and federal policies and regulations including DOT, OSHA, and Reyes Fleet Management standards, while ensuring compliance with safety programs, correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practices
  • This position may require driving Reyes Family of Businesses, Reyes Fleet Management, and customer vehicles; it is regulated by the DOT and requires a current driver qualification file to be maintained as required by the role. The Driver Qualification file includes:
    • An annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check
    • A successfully completed DOT Physical
    • Safety Performance History records request from prior employers in the last three years
  • CDL holders will have a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and are subject to a FMCSA Clearinghouse review
  • Some travel may be required
  • Other projects or duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with 3+ years of related experience
  • Must possess own tools
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations to operate applicable company vehicles
  • Valid CDL (License A) is highly desired; mandatory in some locations
  • Ability to frequently lift, push, and/or pull weights in excess of 50 pounds, occasionally lift, push, and/or pull weights in excess of 100 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical school certification
