About the role
Maintenance Technician B (II) Transdev in Longmont, Colorado, is seeking a B-Level Diesel Mechanic to bolster our team. This role requires expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across a range of vehicles and equipment. As a Diesel Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and replacements on diesel engines, ensuring optimal functionality.
- Assist A-Level and B-Level Mechanics in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks, contributing to efficient workflow.
- Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize diesel engine performance.
- Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for diesel engines.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on diesel engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
- Candidate must obtain two (2) ASE certifications within one (1) year of employment.
Requirements
- 3 - 5 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic or a combo of 3 plus years of education and experience.
- ASE certifications preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- CDL is required.
- Must participate in the company ASE certification program.
Qualifications
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
- Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable.
- DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

- Vacation: 1 week following 6 months of employment, 2 weeks after 1 year of employment

Pay
Competitive compensation package of minimum $35.91 - maximum $39.03/ hr plus $1.00 an hour shift differential.
Schedule
Shift schedule: Sunday through Wednesday, 3:30pm - 1:30am

Physical Requirements
- Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
- Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
- Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level.
- Withstand heavy traffic areas, while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.
