Diesel Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance services
• Inspects, diagnoses and repairs vehicles and equipment
• Performs inspection, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment
• Performs service calls
• Cleans and maintains a safe work area
• Conducts safety checks on vehicles
• Assists Lead Mechanics as needed
• Reviews and completes repairs identified on Vehicle Condition Reports
• Completes paperwork associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounts for applied times

Requirements

• Equivalent of (1) high school diploma or G.E.D. certification and 1 year of related equipment maintenance and repair; OR 4 years of related equipment maintenance and repair
• Valid driver license

Physical Requirements

• Handle tools, equipment, fine motor skills
• Reach with hands and arms
• Climb and walk on heights often greater than 4 feet
• Occasionally must be able to lift equipment weighing up to 50 lbs
