About the role
Universal Transportation Systems (UTS) is currently hiring skilled Mechanics for their Cincinnati location. They primarily service the City of Cincinnati and other Hamilton County school districts.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repairs on minivans, transit vans, and yellow school buses.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections.
- Utilize shop equipment and diagnostic tools effectively.
- Work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Requirements
- Valid Ohio Driver’s License (CDL with PS endorsement preferred).
- 3–5 years of mechanical experience.
- School bus experience (preferred).
- Experience with Insite, NED, and Allison DOC (preferred).
- ASE Certification (preferred).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 75 lbs occasionally.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of shop equipment.
- Team-oriented mindset with strong work ethic.
- Positive, dependable, and safety-focused.
Qualifications
This is a multifaceted role supporting both light and medium-duty fleet maintenance. Our mechanics report directly to the Assets and Facilities Director and are a vital part of maintaining the safety of our fleet and the students we serve.
