Ryder is hiring a Mobile Maintenance Diesel Technician in Beltsville, Maryland. This position offers a stable career with weekly pay and excellent benefits.
Responsibilities
- Interact with customers, manage accounts, resolve repair issues, and discuss new repair estimates.
- Coordinate work schedules as needed by customers.
- Perform preventive maintenance and vehicle repairs, including:
- A/C & Heater: System checks, component inspections, and repairs.
- Brakes-Air: Brake operation, system tests, lining thickness measurement, and repairs.
- Brakes-Hydraulic: Brake operation, fluid level checks, lining thickness measurement, and repairs.
- Cargo Handling/Transfer, Liftgates: Leak identification, operation, and minor adjustments.
- Charging Systems (electrical): Battery inspection, cleaning, and testing.
- Cooling Systems: Fluid level checks, system inspections, and repairs.
- Cranking System (electrical): Battery inspection, cleaning, and testing.
- Lighting System and Electrical Accessories: Minor wiring repairs and accessory installations.
- Drive Axles: Housing inspection, oil changes, and lubrication.
- Driveline: Lubrication and component inspection.
- Gas Engines-All Engines: Oil levels check, noise identification, and oil leaks.
- Fuel Systems: Filter replacement and system component inspections.
- Preventive Maintenance: Lube techniques, tire inspections, brake checks, and battery checks.
- Steering and Non-driven Axles and Alignment: Component lubrication, fluid level checks, and alignment.
- Suspension-Chassis and Cab: Identification of normal and abnormal operations, and repairs.
- Tire and Wheel Maintenance: Pressure checks, tread depth checks, and tire replacements.
- Vehicle Coupling System (PM): Slider mechanism lubrication and operation.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Vocational or Technical Certification in vehicle maintenance and repair services preferred.
- One (1) year or more mechanical experience working offsite at customer locations.
- Minimum tools required to perform job duties as outlined in Ryder's Maintenance policy 2.02.
- Pass a Ryder drug test and previous employer's for the past 3 years, DOT physical, Ryder road test, pass a Ryder Background check and Motor vehicle check including Drug and Alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
- Able to take home assigned mobile service truck as applicable and secure vehicle and contents.
- Valid NonCommercial Driver License CLASS E, Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A and/or State driver's license as required.
- Pass preventive maintenance (PM230&PM298), Other Brakes-Air (BA220&BA298), Other Brake mechanics/inspectors FMCS 396.25, Other Hydraulic Brake (BH220&BH298), Other Tire & Wheel TW220, Other CF609 & A/C trained and qualified (AC220&AC298), Other Battery Charge and Check, Warranty, Other HD electrical - DR208, Other Svc Island Support SBTIII trained (SBT220) and SBT Phase 2, Other OEM on-line engine courses (minimum 2), DOT Safety Regulated Position, Safety Sensitive Position Regulated Tech.
Qualifications

Pay
Hourly Pay: $28.00 per hour.
Schedule
Monday–Friday Weekends OFF
First Shift 4:00 am – 12:30 pm
