About the role

Ryder is hiring a Master Level Diesel Technician in Mobile, Alabama. This position offers a stable career with weekly pay and excellent benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Perform standard vehicle maintenance
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Perform complex repairs with minimal support
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems
  • Access and use internal and external maintenance documents
  • Utilize diagnostic computers/software when applicable
  • Perform remote triage to assist roadside breakdowns
  • Perform facility maintenance duties
  • Instruct and advise other technicians regarding maintenance repair procedures and diagnostics
  • Coach/Mentor other level technicians
  • Advise shop management and other technicians on shop repairs
  • Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation
  • Work in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or Technical Certification
  • Post-secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Basic tools, required
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
  • Additional certifications as required by location
  • Ability to perform all T3 tasks
  • Advanced analytical and repair skills in vehicle maintenance
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Basic computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Able to work shift work/weekends and on-call duty as required
  • Proficient in operating shop computers and diagnostic test equipment
  • Minimum tool requirement
  • Must be able to drive Ryder vehicles

Pay

Hourly Pay: $33.00 per hour

Schedule

Monday through Friday

Benefits

  • Quarterly bonus: up to $500 per quarter
  • ASE Certification Bonus of $100 for each New ASE Certification Obtained up to $700

Skills

  • SBTIII trained within 180 days (SBT220)
  • Complete all OEM on-line diagnostic scan tool software courses as required by location fleet mix
  • Complete Instructor led OEM courses as required to support location fleet mix

Requirements

  • Four (4) years or more Relevant work experience, preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
  • All other certification as required by location, required
