Ryder is hiring a Master Level Diesel Technician in Mobile, Alabama. This position offers a stable career with weekly pay and excellent benefits.
Responsibilities
- Perform standard vehicle maintenance
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Perform complex repairs with minimal support
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems
- Access and use internal and external maintenance documents
- Utilize diagnostic computers/software when applicable
- Perform remote triage to assist roadside breakdowns
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Instruct and advise other technicians regarding maintenance repair procedures and diagnostics
- Coach/Mentor other level technicians
- Advise shop management and other technicians on shop repairs
- Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation
- Work in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or Technical Certification
- Post-secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
- Basic tools, required
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
- Additional certifications as required by location
- Ability to perform all T3 tasks
- Advanced analytical and repair skills in vehicle maintenance
- Effective interpersonal communication skills
- Basic computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Able to work shift work/weekends and on-call duty as required
- Proficient in operating shop computers and diagnostic test equipment
- Minimum tool requirement
- Must be able to drive Ryder vehicles

Pay
Hourly Pay: $33.00 per hour
Schedule
Monday through Friday
Benefits
- Quarterly bonus: up to $500 per quarter
- ASE Certification Bonus of $100 for each New ASE Certification Obtained up to $700
Skills
- SBTIII trained within 180 days (SBT220)
- Complete all OEM on-line diagnostic scan tool software courses as required by location fleet mix
- Complete Instructor led OEM courses as required to support location fleet mix
Requirements
- Four (4) years or more Relevant work experience, preferred
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
- All other certification as required by location, required
