Summary
The position of Diesel Mechanic is primarily responsible to diagnose, repair and maintain portable generators. This position may also require but not limited to the following duties, field service repairs, re-fueling, delivering and picking up portable generators, technical support and some travel as needed.
Job Responsibilities
- Trouble shoot and makes repairs to generator fleet.
- Working with operations manager and generator fleet manager to prioritize repairs.
- Ordering of parts for repairs.
- Must be able to operate a forklift.
- Must be able to assist field operations when needed.
- Ability to drive a company vehicle.
- On call rotation once approved to work in field
Competencies/Requirements
- Must have extensive knowledge of diesel engines.
- Generator experience a plus.
- Is able to read and interpret wiring diagrams.
- Working knowledge of both Isuzu, Cat, Cummins, Doosan, MQ, MMD, Volvo, and John Deere engines and generators a plus.
- Able to use computer and related software to trouble shoot engine and generator controls.
- Must have mechanical background.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
