Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on diesel trucks and petroleum transport trailers.
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, steering systems, and electrical components.
- Inspect and maintain trailer equipment, including pumps, meters, hoses, valves, and loading/unloading systems.
- Perform DOT inspections and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and air brake systems.
- Complete work orders and maintenance records accurately.
- Cook with drivers and management to prioritize repairs and minimize equipment downtime.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a diesel mechanic (CDL fleet or heavy truck experience preferred).
- Knowledge of diesel engines, truck and trailer maintenance, and DOT requirements.
- Experience with diagnostics and electrical troubleshooting.
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
- CDL and HAZMAT required.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
