Duties and responsibilities
- Performing and analyzing vehicle diagnostic tests.
- Performing the inspection, diagnosis, and repair of hydraulic, suspension, brake and electrical systems on vehicles and equipment.
- Replacing engine, steering mechanism, transmissions, and braking system.
- Servicing and providing preventative maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
- Keeping detailed records of all vehicles and equipment serviced.
- Repairing engine failures, electrical and mechanical system malfunctions, and body repair and replacement parts and components.
- Servicing machinery and mechanical equipment, including repairs to engines, hydraulics, stationary, and mobile equipment.
- Using computers to issue parts or update comments on work orders/task lists, including diagnostic programs for engines, hydraulic systems, OEM, and brake systems.
- Troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, maintaining supplies, and recommending repairs when necessary.
- Keeping work area and equipment clean and in good order.
- Following safety regulations.
- Using vehicle electronics systems to analyze failure modes and initiate or assign repairs.
- Estimating the time and material cost of vehicle repairs and requisitions for new parts.
- Engaging in service calls during an emergency breakdown.
- Conducting safety checks on all vehicles.
Requirements
- Applicable computer skills to use diagnostic scan equipment.
- Your own basic hand tools.
- A positive attitude.
- Must be flexible and willing to do what it takes to get the job done.

Qualifications
- Experience in the field of diesel mechanics.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, suspension, brake, and electrical systems.
- Ability to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on various types of heavy equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
