Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on diesel trucks and heavy equipment.
- Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Conduct routine vehicle safety checks and maintain accurate service records.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform field repairs when necessary.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company safety policies and industry regulations.
- Communicate effectively with drivers and operations staff regarding vehicle issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are in good condition.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably in waste, recycling, or transportation industries.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostics tools.
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred or willingness to obtain).
- Own basic hand tools; specialty tools provided by Emterra.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs., bend, kneel, and work in outdoor conditions as needed.
Pay
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
Schedule
Hours are flexible but typically include weekends and evenings.
