Primary Responsibilities
- Repair and maintain tractors, lifts, diesel and gasoline engines by performing all regular scheduled maintenance and repairs including fluid and filter changes, wheel seal inspection and replacement, pinion seal inspection and replacement.
- Perform brake jobs, starter replacement, turbo inspection and replacement, and diagnostic troubleshooting.
- Repair and maintain hydraulics.
- Maintains engines/diagnoses trouble, disassembles used to power machinery by using hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and machine tools.
- Reconditions and replaces parts, such as pistons, bearings, gear, valves, and bushings using engine lathes, boring machines[hand tools, and precision measuring instruments
- Weld and cut parts by using arc-welding and flame cutting instruments
Requirements
- Valid CDL License
- Ability to read and comprehend repair manuals
- Strong diesel mechanical troubleshooting aptitude and able to work independently
- Experience working in a trucking terminal environment, using maintenance record keeping
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 Years previous diesel experience required
