Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance services within acceptable standards for Dayton Freight Lines.
- Diagnose, repair, and replace external engine components using ECM diagnostic programs and other techniques.
- Test and repair entire truck chassis electrical systems.
- Develop proficiency in repairing major power and drive train components.
- Perform PM inspections and services according to DFL policy and time standards.
- Repair, adjust, and align suspension and brake systems.
- Maintain tire maintenance program according to DFL policy.
- Perform service calls as per DFL guidelines or individual location guidelines.
- Wash and fuel equipment as necessary.
- Conduct vehicle road tests to ensure quality repairs.
- Perform other maintenance duties or assignments as assigned.
- Maintain a positive attitude and professional interaction with colleagues.
- Participate in maintaining the shop, grounds, and equipment in a clean and safe manner.
- Record all work and labor in the EMS system.
- Work with the Parts Department to maintain proper stock levels.
- Comply with Parts Department procedures and rules.
- Continuously improve maintenance processes.
Qualifications
- Possess a valid Driver's License.
- Basic math skills.
- Fluent in English.
- Pass a drug screen.
