Main Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on diesel tractors, trailers, and trailer refrigeration units.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment problems.
- Answer drivers' telephone requests for assistance with equipment failure while out on the road.
- Maintain and repair all equipment (tractors, trailers, trailer refrigeration units, converter gears) to include engines, starting and charging, cooling, electrical, body, wheels, brakes and suspension.
- Follow all company procedures and ensure a safe work environment.
- Responsible for performing all job duties with honesty and integrity.
What We Are Searching For
- Prior experience as a Diesel Mechanic or combination of formal/technical education and directly related experience.
- Must be 18 years of age or older, with a valid driver’s license.
- Current CDL license (preferred).
- Able to perform tasks such as reaching, lifting, working with objects weighing up to 100 lbs., pushing and pulling heavy equipment, manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance.
- Able to work full-time, 4 Nights - 10-hour Shifts, 3 days off.
- Able to apply required use and safety knowledge.
Compensation and Benefits
- Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement.
- Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range.
