Diesel Fleet Mechanic Technician II

Role: Fleet Maintenance Technician responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective vehicles through preventive inspections and repairs. Key Duties Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on fleet vehicles and equipment, including tractors, trailers, and light-duty vehicles.Conduct annual inspections in compliance with regulations and address vehicle safety issues promptly.Diagnose malfunctions and repair systems such as engines, transmissions, electrical, brake, and HVAC systems.Document work performed and utilize diagnostic software and electrical testing tools.Complete electrical repairs, welding, and troubleshooting with proficiency. Qualifications & Skills Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training, high school diploma or GED.2+ years fleet maintenance experience or related technical training.Valid driver’s license, ASE certifications preferred; certifications in inspections and HVAC advantageous.Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, electrical diagnostics, and safety regulations.Proficient with diagnostic tools and able to perform welding and mechanical repairs.Excellent dexterity, physical ability to lift up to 100 lbs, and ability to work in various environmental conditions. Work Environment & Physical Demands Work may include outdoor settings, confined spaces, and exposure to noise, fumes, and temperature extremes.Requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting, with occasional travel for training or business needs.
