Die Inspector

Main position objectives

• Inspect every die before it leaves the machine shop.
• Assemble all dies to make them fully functional.
• Dimensionally and visually inspect the product to ensure it meets all print and customer requirements.
• Enter data in a database.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the manager.

Position Description – Tasks, Responsibilities, Competencies

• Read and interpret blueprints.
• Select the proper measuring instrument for the feature being measured.
• Measure each die using the most effective and efficient methods.
• Dimensionally and visually inspect the product to ensure it meets all print and customer requirements.
• Enter data in a database.
• Assemble the die after inspection, adding all components specified for that particular die.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the manager.

Physical Requirements

• Stand, walk, or bend while working.
• Lift items up to 50 pounds.
• Have close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Job Specification

• Mandatory: High School diploma or equivalent education (additional technical skills a plus).
• Desirable: Machinist / Tool Maker apprenticeship card, Technical training/certifications.

Pay Range

$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
