Responsibilities
- Operates and maintains dialysis machines.
- Makes preparations and gathers supplies for hemodialysis treatments.
- Carefully organizes and documents patient treatments.
- Reports any issues or concerns to the appropriate medical staff.
- Assists with daily department operations, including preparing treatment set-up, performing safety checks, and assisting with machine cleaning and turnover.
- Collaborates with co-workers, manages resources efficiently, maintains supplies, and communicates effectively with the healthcare team and patients.
- Monitors and documents the quality control of the hemodialysis water system and equipment, including reporting deviations and implementing strategies.
- Trains and assists new Dialysis Technicians, evaluates their competency-based training, and provides preventative maintenance and minor equipment repair.
- Responds to emergencies, adheres to patient safety goals, uses appropriate safety devices, protects confidential information, and follows organizational policies and procedures.
- Performs clerical activities, assists with scheduling appointments, enters charges, maintains paperwork, and ensures inventory levels are adequate.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 0 – 1 years of Nephrology experience to include Hemodialysis (HD).
- Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Certification (CCHT) certification.
- BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider certification.
