Dialysis Patient Care Technician - PCT Chronic In-center

About the role

The Dialysis Patient Care Technician position is for our Boynton Beach Clinic located at 1500 E Gateway Blvd, Ste 198, Boynton Beach, FL 33426. This role involves working directly with patients to provide safe, comfortable, and high-quality dialysis treatment under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse (CN).

Responsibilities

• Gather patient stats before and after treatment
• Initiate and terminate treatment
• Monitor patients during treatment
• Collect patient blood samples per physician orders
• Prepare machines for hemodialysis treatments
• Clean and disinfect machines after treatment
• Conduct machine safety checks and log results for quality control
• Ensure all protocols and regulations are followed
• Participate in staff meetings and continuing education offerings

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Desire to work in healthcare and care for patients
• Previous healthcare experience in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA is a plus
• Comfortable mixing acids and bicarbonate according to protocol
• Ability to distinguish all primary colors

Qualifications

• Successful completion of USRC training program approved by the Medical Director, including demonstrated competency
• CPR certification required within 90 days of hire or as required by the state
• Patient Care Technician certification must be obtained through a state certification program or national commercially available certification program within 18 months of hire date and maintained in good standing thereafter
