Responsibilities
- Work directly with patients to provide safe, comfortable, and high-quality dialysis treatment.
- Gather patient stats before and after treatment.
- Initiate and terminate treatment.
- Monitor patients during treatment.
- Collect patient blood samples per physician orders.
- Prepare machines for hemodialysis treatments.
- Clean and disinfect machines after treatment.
- Conduct machine safety checks and log results for quality control.
- Avoid contamination and infection by using appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and state/federal laws and regulations.
- Participate in staff meetings and continuing education offerings.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Desire to work in healthcare and care for patients in need.
- Previous healthcare experience in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA is a plus.
- Demonstrated competency in USRC training program within 8 weeks of hire.
- Completion of USRC training course in hemodialysis within 8 weeks of hire.
- CPR certification required within 90 days of hire or as required by the state.
- Patient Care Technician certification from a state certification program or national program within 18 months of hire and maintained in good standing.
- Ability to distinguish all primary colors.
- Comfortable with mixing acids and bicarbonate according to protocol.
