Dialysis Nurse, Peritoneal RN

About the Role

The Home Therapy Nurse trains and supports patients in self-care for peritoneal or home hemodialysis, providing quality care and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Conducts home assessments and trains patients/care partners in self-care procedures
• Documents care plans and patient progress
• Participates in infection control and emergency procedure management
• Monitors inventory of supplies and tracks quality outcomes
• Performs routine lab tests and administers medications
• Provides on-call nursing services
• Coordinates home evaluations for hemodialysis patients
• Ensures compliance with water sampling requirements

Qualifications

• Current RN license
• Minimum 12 months of clinical experience
• 3 months of experience in the specific dialysis modality (peritoneal or home hemodialysis)
• CPR certification
• Computer proficiency
• Must complete orientation and demonstrate competency

Skills

• Strong communication and critical thinking abilities
• Ability to work independently
• Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to dialysis care
