Dialysis Licensed Practical Nurse-LPN
About the role
The Licensed Practical Nurse provides nursing care at a DCI in-center hemodialysis clinic as part of a patient care team. Responsibilities include role under direct RN supervision, providing nursing care throughout patient assessment, initiation and discontinuation of treatment, monitoring during and assessing following treatment, obtaining necessary lab work, assessing and monitoring patient’s access with intervention as appropriate, following clinic’s infection control policies and procedures, understanding concepts of water treatment and effects on patient care, communicating effectively to keep charge nurse aware of patient condition changes, knowing and following clinic risk management program, administering and educating patient regarding medications, within scope of practice, attending required training and staff meetings to maintain and expand skills.

- Assess and monitor patient’s access with intervention as appropriate
- Follow the clinic’s infection control policies and procedures
- Understand concepts of water treatment and effects on patient care
- Communicate effectively to keep charge nurse aware of patient condition changes
- Know and follow clinic risk management program
- Administer and educate patient regarding medications, within scope of practice
- Attend required training and staff meetings to maintain and expand skills
Qualifications

Requirements
- Education/Training
- Accredited practical nursing program completion
- Dialysis experience preferred, not required
- Current MT LPN license
- Current CPR/AED certification
- Current state IV therapy training requirements, if applicable
- DCI provides a comprehensive education program, including classroom group sessions, job shadowing and one-on-one skills training

Pay
Pay range from $23-$27 per hour, depending on nursing and dialysis experience
Schedule
Full-time, three 12-hour shifts starting at 5am; Sundays off; no overnight shifts
