About the role

As a Clinical Manager with Fresenius Medical Care, you will ensure that quality patient care is delivered while maintaining clinical operations. You will serve as the facility leader and be part of a close-knit, collaborative team responsible for delivering unique care plans and providing dialysis treatment to patients facing end-stage renal disease or chronic kidney disease.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development plans for all direct reports, partnering with internal Human Resources, Quality, Education, and Technical Services departments.
  • Collaborate with the Home Therapies Program Manager to oversee the facility’s Home Therapies Program.
  • Maintain integrity of medical and operations records and comply with all data collection and auditing activities, including completion of Internal Classification of Disease (ICD) coding.
  • Manage all required network reporting and on-site state or federal surveys.
  • Oversee the tactical execution of short- and long-term objectives, including costs, methods, and staffing.
  • Administer daily business operations of the dialysis clinics, including staff management, quality of patient care, maintenance of the physical plant and equipment, and inventory control.
  • Manage profit and loss and other financial aspects to achieve or exceed budget and key performance indicators.
  • Coordinate all aspects of patient care with staff, from admission through discharge, and act as a resource for patients and families.
  • Oversee timely completion of patient care assessments, care plans, and schedules to ensure facility efficiency.
  • Participate in the selection, hiring, and onboarding of new team members, ensuring completion of mandatory training and current licensures/certifications.
  • Provide support and professional growth opportunities for clinical staff, conduct employee evaluations, and document disciplinary actions.
  • Manage staff scheduling, payroll, and maintain knowledge of company benefits, policies, and procedures.
  • Facilitate physician privileges and compliance with Fresenius Medical Care Medical Staff By-Laws, and maintain strong physician relationships.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure outstanding quality of patient care and compliance with company policies.
  • Implement and maintain a Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Process and Quality Assessment and Improvement Program (QAPI).
  • Ensure compliance with Federal and State laws, and support FMS quality standards through regulatory requirements and CQI practices.
  • Oversee training and risk management initiatives to ensure ongoing compliance with company policies.
  • Manage day-to-day activities and workload of facility staff, providing guidance and leadership as needed.
  • Maintain facility environmental integrity and safety, including equipment maintenance, security, and inventory/supply management.
  • Coordinate and approve facility payroll and participate in all on-site internal and external surveys.
  • Review provider contracts for vendor services, including insurance, laboratory, and facility cleaning.

Qualifications

  • Supervisory experience in a clinical healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of dialysis treatment and end-stage renal disease or chronic kidney disease care.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance, including state and federal survey requirements.
  • Experience managing profit and loss, budgets, and financial performance indicators.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.

Skills

  • Leadership and coaching for clinical and operational teams.
  • Collaboration with physicians, medical directors, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in managing medical records, compliance, and auditing activities.
  • Ability to develop and implement quality improvement processes (CQI, QAPI).
