About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Diagram Admin to support our residential technology installation and project teams. This person will create, update, and maintain accurate system diagrams, equipment documentation, project records, and installation information for home security, home automation, networking, and audio/video systems. A successful candidate will have strong administrative and technical documentation skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate information across sales, design, installation, service, and operations teams.

Responsibilities

  • Create, update, and maintain system diagrams for residential security, smart home automation, audio/video, networking, and control systems.
  • Review project information, proposals, equipment lists, scopes of work, and installation notes to ensure diagrams accurately reflect customer requirements.
  • Prepare clear and organized wiring diagrams, rack elevations, equipment layouts, signal-flow diagrams, floor plans, and other project documentation.
  • Incorporate field changes, substitutions, customer updates, and installation revisions into final system documentation.
  • Maintain accurate project files, equipment records, device information, and revision histories in company systems.
  • Coordinate with sales, design, project management, purchasing, installation, and service teams to gather missing information and resolve documentation discrepancies.
  • Verify equipment models, quantities, device locations, cable paths, connections, and system requirements before releasing documentation to the field.
  • Support installers and technicians by providing accurate diagrams, project notes, programming information, and as-built documentation.
  • Assist with creating customer-facing documentation, user guides, equipment lists, and system handoff materials.
  • Perform additional responsibilities assigned by the manager.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in an administrative, documentation, drafting, project coordination, or technical support role.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, consistent, and professional documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret floor plans, wiring diagrams, equipment lists, installation notes, and technical specifications.
  • Strong computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, spreadsheets, email, and digital file management systems.
  • Experience with diagramming, drafting, or design software such as Visio, AutoCAD, Lucidchart, Bluebeam, D-Tools, or similar platforms is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities and complete work accurately within project deadlines.
  • Basic understanding of residential technology systems, including home security, surveillance cameras, access control, home automation, audio/video, networking, and structured wiring.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional education in drafting, design, technology, construction, or a related field is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with a residential security, AV, home automation, low-voltage, or custom installation company.
  • Experience creating as-built drawings, wiring diagrams, rack elevations, floor plans, or technical installation documentation.
  • Familiarity with platforms and products such as Control4, Savant, Lutron, Ring, Alarm.com, Sonos, networking equipment, security panels, and surveillance systems.
  • Experience using CRM, project management, inventory, or field service management software.
  • Knowledge of structured cabling, low-voltage wiring, device addressing, signal flow, and residential technology installations.
  • Experience with ODOO or similar business management software.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with project and field teams.
