About the role

The Educational Diagnostician will be responsible for conducting thorough evaluations that determine a special education disability condition, an educational need for specialized instruction through special education, and appropriate recommendations that translate to positive learning outcomes for the student.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations to determine special education disability conditions and educational needs
• Coordinate ARD/IEP meetings and ensure implementation of individual education plans
• Maintain compliance with federal, local, and state timelines, records, and procedures
• Collaborate with campus, special education, and district staff to verify accuracy of PEIMS data and IEP services
• Facilitate ARD/IEP meetings and interpret special education laws and policies
• Compile and interpret student evaluation results to diagnose special education disability conditions and assess eligibility for special services
• Develop collaborative relationships with assessment personnel, families, educators, administrators, outside agencies, and related service personnel
• Manage and maintain accurate individual special education records

Qualifications

• Master's degree
• Valid Educational Diagnostician Certification
• Valid Teaching Certification issued by the Texas Education Agency
• Minimum of 3 years of certified teaching experience
• Proficient in Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

This position is funded by grant funds and may be discontinued if grant funds are no longer available. The position requires attendance at conferences and professional development, and may involve working prolonged or irregular hours.
