Diagnostic Technologist I

About the role

The UVA Imaging department is seeking a full-time Diagnostic Technologist to join our team at the UVA Orthopedic Outpatient Imaging Center. This position is ideal for someone looking to advance their skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate general diagnostic x-ray equipment
• May operate the C-arm during surgical or fluoroscopy procedures

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year experience as a Radiography Technologist preferred but not required
• Must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Maintain current valid registration from ARRT and meet state licensure requirements
• BLS certification required within 60 days of hire

Qualifications

• Minimum Associates Degree in Radiology or graduate of an accredited two-year radiology program

Skills/Abilities

• Proficiency in operating radiographic and ancillary equipment
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• Accurate and concise documentation skills
• Understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology
• Knowledge of computer applications including information and billing systems, keyboard input, digital archiving, and data retrieval
